Student Leadership During a Pandemic

OSU Center for Sovereign Nations

Group of Students with OSU Staff (Outside Under a White Tent)

OSU administration, faculty, staff, and students wore masks and gathered under a large tent on the Life Sciences East lawn to celebrate Bouncing Back during Fall 2021. Unable to gather in celebration of the center’s 5th birthday due pandemic restrictions, the 6th Birthday of OSU’s Center for Sovereign Nations was highlighted by a great address from OSU’s new president, Dr. Kayse Shrum. The party began with a video created by center student leader Gavin Holzworth. The video was a recap of how the center team adapted to evolving conditions and restrictions caused by Covid-19. Following remarks from founding director Elizabeth Payne and assistant director Sky Rogers, graduating seniors McKenzie McCaleb, MaCaylin Autuabo, and Gavin Holzworth shared about their impact upon their undergraduate experience.
