Oklahoma State University Representatives
The OSU Library partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior to create the Tribal Treaties Database. The project was publicly announced at the White House Tribal Nations Summit.
Under the direction of Library Dean Sheila Johnson, Julianna Nykolaiszyn (Head of Digital Resources and Discovery Services), and Nina Thornton (Multimedia Producer), a video overview of the project was created. The video was presented at the Tribal Nations Summit, and Founding OSU Center for Sovereign Nations Director Elizabeth Payne was honored to participate in the video.
The new Tribal Treaties Database is a free public resource available at: treaties.okstate.edu
The project focuses on U.S. government treaties with Native Americans from 1778-1883.
