The OSU Center for Sovereign Nations celebrated its 9th birthday with a series of five student-led events. In collaboration with the Native American Student Association (NASA), these events showcased student culture and highlighted the sovereign nation tribal citizenship of students at OSU.
The week began with a student welcome lunch and engagement activities, followed by a basket making seminar led by NASA President and CSN Student Leader, Chenoa Turtle. Miss American Indian OSU, Lauren Branham, taught a beading class for OSU students, faculty/staff, and community members. The OSU Native American Student Association held its first meeting of the semester with a game of stickball while the OSU Center for Sovereign Nations provided refreshing snowcones. The week wrapped with NASA making traditional frybread for students and guests to enjoy all day.
