Dr. Khan received his training in medicine & surgery in 1987 from Dow Health Sciences Center, Karachi, Pakistan and he earned his MPH in 1992 in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Public Health.

Since 2005 he has served as Director of Health Research, Cherokee Nation Health Services, Epidemiologist/Biostatistician for the Cherokee Nation Health Services, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Northeastern State University, College of Optometry and Tribal Liaison/Grant Administrator for the Oklahoma Native American Research Center for Health
